What is housing like? On-post? (waiting list,
conditions, etc.) Off-post? Any areas to stay away from? Average
price to rent or buy? The housing on post is looking better. We live
off post north of Bragg. I love it north of Bragg in Harnett county
its quiet. Southern Pines area is really nice too.
Rate the PX & Commissary. Haven't really been
shopping on post but when I did go it seemed nice
Activities on base? They have some really nice
parks, bowling, ice skating rink
Active Spouses Club? Don't know much about
that haven't heard of any
Things to do in area? there is nice state
parks to go hiking, museums, zoo's, aquariums, the beach
School System? I know there is elementary
school on post but my daughter goes to Highland Elem. and the
teachers are really nice and most are military.
Any colleges in area? In Harnett county they
have Campbell U. and I know in Fayetteville they have a few.
Jobs? (on post and off) jobs are hard to find
around here.
Favorite aspect of this base/surrounding city?
Wilmington is about 2.5 hrs away and its nice to go to the beach.
Lillington has a really nice state park, and there is
Raleigh...Mountains (Ashville) is about 4hrs
Least favorite aspect? Fayetteville
