6 months of actual AIT, but there was a major

Daily by phone at first, then he got to come home

They didn't have one, they were doing a FTX Any other tips or information?
It can be really frustrating for the soldier &
their family when they first get to Fort Gordon and are told that they
won't start classes for MONTHS (which happens a LOT). They basically
get stuck doing details such as raking the dirt, picking up cigarette
butts, etc. until classes start. Just be patient and supportive. Make
sure your soldier passes PT tests, they are the key to phasing up and as
soon as they phase up they can start coming home!
