MY FIANCE IS BEING STATIONED IN GERMANY THIS YEAR AND WE HAD JUST FOUND OUT THAT IN ORDER FOR THE ARMY TO PAY FOR ME TO MOVE THERE WITH HIM WE WOULD HAVE TO BE MARRIED BEFORE HE REPORTS TO HIS NEW DUTY STATION. SO MY QUESTION IS, IF WE GET MARRIED BEFORE HE GOES AND HE GETS HIS ORDERS AMENDED AND CHANGED TO ACCOMPANIED, WOULD THE ARMY STILL PAY FOR ME TO MOVE THERE WHEN I AM DONE WITH SCHOOL IN MAY 2011? AND IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THATS IMPORTANT WE SHOULD KNOW? THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

You will have to be married in order for the Army to pay for you to move with him. How long you are able to delay the move will depend on how his orders read. Many times orders will have a set amount of time that you are authorized to move. If you have questions about the way his orders read, contact the transportation office about delaying the move. They should be able to answer your questions about it.

My husband just got his orders for Bamberg, Germany. I’m in his orders because we were married before he even joined the Army. Im pregnant and due around the time we are suppose to PCS there (MAY). He isn’t sure on the exact dates as of right now, because they have to take Airborne out of his orginal orders. Either way I can’t travel before the due date if that so happens to be what it comes down too. So if we can’t travel to Germany together, will the Military still pay for me to join him at a later date or will the expenses come out of our own pocket? Any information will be so helpful. This is our first PCS and pregnancy. So finding out as much as we can is a blessing. Thank you for you time!
