in Ask An Army Spouse, Pay and Benefits

Hi! I am getting married to a soldier in about 2 months. How long after we get married will it take to get our BAH so I can move to his duty station. (I`m in TN and he`s in TX) And what steps do we need to take in order to receive our BAH? Thanks. :)

As soon as you get married, he needs to take the marriage certificate to finance to have his records updated. In addition, you will need to get your military ID and be enrolled in DEERS. Typically, BAH will go into effect on the next month’s paycheck and will be back paid to the date of your marriage. Congratulations!

My daughter just finished her AIT (medic) and while she was home she got married to a guy she met at basic training. She had to ship out yesterday to Younsan, South Korea. Her husband is National Guard and has orders to deploy to Afghanistan in Oct (pre-deployment training starts next week). They had a Sgt (his recruiter) tell them that he would be able to get his orders changed and be with her within 45 days but today we just found out that it won’t happen because he is NG. Is there anyway (including him enlisting in the Army) that would make it that they could be together?

I’m 20 years old, married, stationed in Germany and i have a 4 month old baby boy.
Germany so far has been difficult for me. Ive been here for about 9 months and havent met anyone in my age group with a child.

Its really hard trying to make friends out here when most of the people im meeting are older or childless and to top it off having a baby is expensive so its difficult to enjoy germany.

There has to be a place out here where young moms like me meet up, besides acs (mommy and me) classes because I havent seen any young moms there! and are there any free trips meaning hotel and food included ? like free tours or something ?!

desperate for some fun !
o and ps im not putting my baby in daycare/fcc not yet :(
